"Your Rights at Work"

Education is power. Knowing your workplace rights is an important first step to making sure your rights are respected and upheld. This workshop is designed to equip you with an understanding of your rights at work. Topics covered include wages, hours of work, scheduling, wage theft, workplace discrimination, and bullying and harassment. You’ll leave knowing ways to take action if facing workplace injustice.

The workshop will be put on by the Retail Action Network, the Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition, and the Employment Standards Legal Advocacy Project.

​The Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition (VIHRC) is a non-profit organization that supports people who have experienced discrimination and wish to file a human rights complaint with the BC Human Rights Tribunal.

The Employment Standards ​Legal Advocacy Project (ESLAP) through together against poverty society. TAPS Employment Standards Legal Advocacy Project provides free face-to-face advocacy representation services for non-unionised employees. TAPS Advocates are available to assist employees in resolving disputes with their employers under the BC Employment Standards Act.

The Retail Action Network is a network of workers and labour activists fighting for workplace justice, increased wages, and improved working conditions in retail, restaurant, and hospitality industries.
