Your Money, Your Goals Train-the-Trainer: Los Angeles Training
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) selected the City of Los Angeles to be part of a 2016 Your Money, Your Goals cohort. The goal is to bring the Your Money, Your Goals toolkit to as many front line staff as possible.
The three free trainings available are held on:
Thursday, December 8 (ENGLISH only)
Friday, December 9 (ENGLISH only)
Thursday, January 19 (SPANISH only)
The Your Money, Your Goals toolkit training will help frontline staff and volunteers as they work with consumers to:
- Make spending decisions that can help them reach their goals
- Order and fix credit reports
- Avoid tricks and traps as they choose financial products
- Reduce debt
- Keep track of their income and bills
- …and much more!
This is a train-the-trainer event. Participants, who sign up for these trainings, are expected to return to their organizations and facilitate similar trainings to a minimum of two to four fellow frontline staff and to administer two short survey instruments.
The CFPB's Your Money, Your Goals toolkit training will address cash flow, credit, debt, banking and consumer protection topics. In addition, financial assessments for font line staff and clients will be covered as well as the influence of culture, emotion and values in making financial decisions. Successful strategies for addressing the money topic with clients will be explored.
