Event description

Description

On Saturday, May 25th, YMU will be returning to Racket in Wynwood to host our 7th Annual Spring Music Festival. Save the date and spread the news to help us reach our goal of $150,000 and give 1100+ students across Miami-Dade access to free music education for this coming 2019/2020 academic school year. We have prepared an amazing night of performances by our talented young musicians who have been working hard all year to show off their accomplishments. The Spring Music Festival is YMU’s largest fundraiser of the year and has been one of the most important contributing factors in the continued growth of our organization.

OUR MISSION:

Young Musicians Unite provides free, consistent music programming to underserved communities in Miami. YMU engages students of different backgrounds and brings them together through a shared passion for music. By collaborating with schools to bring music programming to students, YMU addresses education gaps to develop leaders, boost personal development and inspire self-confidence.

YMU has quickly grown to include 675+ students through 11 schools, serving 31 different programs throughout Miami-Dade. All students receive 80-100 lessons throughout the school year in addition to their own instrument to take home for the year. Since inception, YMU has worked with 1100+ students. YMU students/grads have received mentorships by New World Symphony Fellows, been accepted to schools such as the New World School of the Arts and have gained entrance into college on full music scholarships.

We are looking to raise $150,000 at the Spring Concert to further our impact. By the Fall of 2019, YMU will be expanding from 11 to 18 schools which will raise the number of students impacted to 1100+ musicians per year. New programming will expand our impact into Miami Gardens.

Thank you for your support.
