Event description

Description

January 21st, 2019 is the National Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his fight for equality and against injustice. The past two years, Young Life areas in the Capital Region united for a service project benefiting the community for significant impact.

This year's theme is Serving the Lights of the City. We aim to be of help and encouragement to the many places and people in the low income poverty stricken areas of our great nation's capital who share the love of Jesus through daily service. These locations are making a direct impact in their communities and are safe havens and lights in the city for many.

“...How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15

Projects will include cleaning, moving things around, and making lunches for the homeless all while building relationships with members of the community.

This is a great relationship builder for service-minded club students, campaigner teens, work crew in training, and volunteer leaders looking to go deeper and share experiences with teens.

Please consider playing a part in this impactful event.

Registration Fee is $15.00 and includes a T-Shirt, Snacks, and Tools.

Thank You,

DC Day of Service Team
