Young Friends Drunk in History Party
Thu, April 6, 2017, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM EDT
In partnership with Quaker City Mercantile, the Young Friends of HSP invite you to an evening of celebration of inebriation as we honor Steven Grasse, author of Colonial Spirits: A Toast to Our Drunken History (2016).
The history of America's alcohol goes back to the beginning of the nation. Could you imagine a time when beer was healthier to drink than water? Come travel back in time as we learn and laugh about the many facets of drinking culture.
Once guests have enjoyed a cocktail or two, all are invited to share their favorite piece of history, story-slam style, for the chance to win a Quaker City Mercantile gift basket.
Your ticket includes an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a one-night document display featuring Philadelphians through the centuries getting tipsy, buzzed, and maybe a little drunk.
Raffle tickets will be available for $5 for one, $20 for five. Prizes include items from Philadelphia Phillies, Lowes Hotel, Philadelphia Independents, Free Library of Philadelphia, Urban Axes, RowZone Indoor Rowing & Fitness Studio, and more!
