Southern Exposure presents You Make a Better Wall Than a Window: The Tour, part of Public Works: Off-Site, a series of public interventions into urban space.
Constance Hockaday leads a ferry ride across San Francisco Bay. She narrates the evolution of our relationship to the ports, discussing contrasts between maritime law and laws that apply on land, and investigating the territories and boundaries we create for ourselves. Participants will take the ferry round trip from San Francisco to Oakland and back. Tickets go on sale starting November 6, and include rental of a headset and use of a Clipper card for the ferry ride.
Meet us at the benches between the Ferry Building and Sinbad's to check in. Dress as if you are going to the arctic.
Public Works: Off-Site is curated by Valerie Imus and organized in partnership with the Mills College Art Museum in conjunction with the exhibition Public Works: Artists’ Interventions 1970s—Now, curated by Christian L. Frock and Tanya Zimbardo, on view September 16 – December 13, 2015 at the Mills College Art Museum.
