ABOUT THE EVENT
What can I expect?
EXPECT to have a good time and pick up some great ideas for your wedding. EXPECT to talk to other brides. They’re in the same situation as you. Talking to other brides may also get you some new friends! DON'T EXPECT to be pressured into getting something you don’t want or need.
Who Should Attend?
ALL FUTURE OR POTENTIAL BRIDES! You may want to consider bringing your fiance, mother, maid of honor, all three, or more! Having a friend or family member present is great so that you can bounce ideas off of them, and they can also help you carry the many items you will pick up at the show. Men are also encouraged to attend.
Why Should I Attend?
Couples and their families will save time, gas, energy, confusion, and money by attending the "You Had Me at Hello..." Bridal Expo. Eliminate playing phone tag or back and forth emails when trying to get an appointment with a wedding vendor. Get immediate, face-to-face response with all vendors in one place!
What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes! You’ll be doing a lot of walking and standing so be dressed comfortably as well. Do you have those "Bride" and "Team Bride" shirts? This is the day to show it off!
What should I bring with me?
Make a checklist of the most important elements needed to complete your wedding plans. You may find everything you've been searching for. Come with a specific date and time in mind for your wedding. One of the first questions you will need to ask any company is: “Are you available on _____ (wedding date)?" If the response is negative, move on to another similar company.
Do I need to visit every vendor?
It is a great idea to visit all vendors, many vendors have specials or discounts to offer if you book their services on the day of the Expo.
Come Prepared to Make Some Decisions!
Couples with very popular wedding dates, such as those in June or October, will need to make decisions and commitments early in order to secure their chosen wedding vendors. Some companies will offer many couples the opportunity to make initial deposits and will take cash or credit/debit cards for deposits.
Do they really give out all those prizes?
You better believe it! It's pretty common for companies to give out a set of discount/free services, overnight stays at nice hotels, or dinners at fancy restaurants!
Should I accept information from non-show vendors?
You may be approached at some shows by people passing out their business cards in a subtle manner. The actual vendors at the show are giving you their information at their assigned tables. If you’re approached by someone inside or outside the venue that does not appear on the show program or is not an official vendor, let one of the vendors know. They will take care of it.
Final Show Tip!
Have fun, this your wedding! Bridal shows can be hectic, overwhelming, and sometimes even a little annoying. But you know what? Above all else, they’re FUN. Where else can you walk around looking at gorgeous photography, smell and touch beautiful flowers, and taste a million different kinds of delicious cakes? So embrace it! You’ll meet great vendors and get a better feel of what’s out there in your area.
