Come and join us for a relaxed, friendly drop-off session for home-educated children aged 8–14 (and their school-educated siblings and friends during the summer holidays)!

Whether your child wants to get stuck into some BBC Bitesize, write a story, sketch, journal, or listen to a podcast - they can bring whatever they’re working on and enjoy a calm, focused environment alongside other like-minded kids. Parents and carers, you get three whole hours to work, rest, or run errands, knowing your child is in safe hands.

We’re a local, family-run service offering a flexible and supportive space for home-ed families.

First session is free for home-educated children!

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost?

Each session is £15 for 3 hours. If this is your first session with us and your child is home educated, it’s completely free! Please note: if your child attends mainstream school and is joining us for our mixed summer sessions, the free first session offer doesn’t apply — the cost is £15.

What should my child bring?

Your child can bring whatever they’d like to work on — a laptop, tablet, sketchbook, headphones, workbook, or even a story they’re writing. We’re a calm, focused space where children work independently in their own way.

Can I stay with my child during the session?

Our sessions are designed to be a drop-off provision. That means you’re free to work, rest, or run errands while we take care of the rest. If your child needs you to stay for a little while to settle in, that's okay too!

What age range is this for?

Sessions are open to children aged 8–14. During the summer holidays, school-educated siblings and friends in the same age range are welcome too!

Is it suitable for children who need 1:1 support?

We welcome all children, regardless of diagnosis. Our sessions are suited to those who are able to work independently with gentle supervision, in a calm and focused environment. If you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to chat it through.

Organised by

Each 3-hour session costs £15 per child. Some specialist sessions (like themed clubs or workshops) may be slightly more - these will be clearly marked in advance. There’s no minimum booking and no commitment - just book the sessions that suit your family. Sessions run in either the morning or afternoon, depending on the day and venue. Children can attend multiple sessions per week, but no child may attend more than 18 hours per week, in line with national guidance for unregistered educational settings.

We gently encourage families to book just one session per day. Three hours of focused, independent learning is often the perfect amount - and doubling up can be quite tiring for some children (especially those who are still adjusting to group settings). We want every child to feel successful and comfortable - not overloaded.

Our sessions are held in carefully chosen community centres, church halls, and village halls around Torbay. We’ve put a lot of thought into selecting spaces that are welcoming, clean, and practical - and we always consider the little things that might make children feel anxious, such as: Where the toilets are, where they can get a drink, where do you go when you arrive and where will they meet their parent or carer afterwards.
