Event description

Description

Students grades 4 - 8 are invited to come learn how Seabees use sound, light and energy to build on land and under the ocean's surface! This hands-on activity will explore how sound moves through different materials and can be used to measure depth and build maps or outlines of objects under the sea. We will then explore how light can be used to do the same thing on land.

US Navy Seabees found a way to do it. Now you 'Can Do' too!

Sessions are one hour and have a limited capacity. Reservations required, though there is no additional cost to participate beyond your Museum admission.

Sessions are from 11 - 12; 12:30 - 1:30; 2 - 3; 3:30 - 4:30. Please note the Museum is open from 10 am - 5 pm, so plan to arrive early or stay late to explore the galleries.

Boarding: There will be a bag check on the pier. No weapons, alcohol, or tobacco (including electronic) products.

What to bring: Shoes, no sandals for safety; a water bottle and camera.

Please note that lunch is not provided. The Fantail Café is on board and open for purchases.

This event is run by the CEC/Seabee Historical Foundation. We thank the USS Midway Museum for hosting us!
