Yosemite Songwriting Retreat LIVE

The Yosemite Songwriting Retreat celebrates the craft of songwriting and the art of performing original songs. Our mission is to support songwriters at all skill levels and in any musical genre, creating an inspiring and supportive community that provides a safe space where individuals can express themselves through their music.

Join us for this unique event designed to connect members of the songwriting community, developing our art craft. This three-day retreat includes a faculty concert, classes, mentor sessions and performance opportunities with Joe Craven, Zach Smith (from Smooth Hound Smith, Melody Walker(co-wrote grammy award winning songs with Molly Tuttle), Gail Dreifus, Adam Burns, David Budries and more. The registration fee include all classes, events, and farm to table meals (Friday eve through Sunday eve.)

We kick off the weekend on Friday night with dinner and a concert where our instructors will introduce themselves, describe their classes and excite you with their performances.

Enjoy inspiring classes throughout the weekend, focusing on various aspects of songwriting.

Participants may book one-on-one mentor sessions (20 minutes) with one of our instructors to help you with a specific song or part.

When you’ve got something you’re ready to share, you can sign up to perform at one of our open mic sessions. Whether you're writing your first song or seeking ideas for your next album, you'll find community and inspiration at the Yosemite Songwriting Retreat. As this event approaches we will be consulting the local public health department and follow their advice to maintain a safe event during the Covid-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our staff and participants is our first priority.

Donations: We accept donations from outside organizations and from retreat participants so we can offer some discounted registration fees to individuals who want to attend the retreat but are unable to afford the full cost. If you are able to make an additional donation, this will help us offer scholarships to others.

Lodging: We have negotiated with The 5th Street Inn and The Quality Inn to provide a number of discounted rooms (30) both are a short walking distance to The Grove House. You need to make your own reservations and please do that as early as possible to receive the discount. IMPORTANT: Be sure to mention YSR when you book your reservation.

Housing Tip: Find a partner to share a room. Each room has 2 queen beds, some have even more sleeping options. There are also other hotels and Vacation Rentals in Mariposa, CA.
