About this Event

If you are “California dreaming,” we have the perfect hike for you. Come be part of the original hike for Freedom Hikers; its first California hike, proudly sponsoring Rescue Freedom. The date of the hike will be on Saturday, September 19th, with check-in on Friday, September 18th. This signature, custom hike, a 15-mile trek, will take you through some of Yosemite’s most beautiful parts, with its breathtaking views. To see images of where we will be hiking, click here - https://lastingadventures.com/guide-service/yosemite/day-hikes/mist-trail-panorama-trail-glacier-point-4-mile-trail/.

We will be hiking in groups of 15, each team, with a 1-2 hike leads. This is a co-ed, mid-level endurance hike. If you have never hiked before, don’t let that stop you. If you are willing to put in the time to train and prepare, you will be able to do this! Our fun leadership team will be here to help you with training tips in preparation for the hike, along with group calls to encourage and cheer you on as you prepare with us to hit the trailhead this fall.

The purpose of this hike is to both raise funds and awareness for Rescue: Freedom International. Rescue Freedom exists to empower the rescue and restoration of women and children suffering in sexual slavery. With partner sites in five countries, they have touched the lives of over 48,000 women and children. Due to generosity of two private donors, Rescue Freedom administrative costs have been covered so that 100% of what we raise on the mountain will go straight into the field to help others be freed! During the month September, Yosemite is extremely popular hiking destination, so we have gone ahead of you and reserved lodging for you to choose from. You will be responsible for the costs of your lodging. However, it is important that we stay together. Logistically, it will be better that we leave for the hike in the morning together. The lodging we found is on the west of Yosemite. We have two options for you and there will be a leader staying at each location:

We can’t wait to meet you, get to know you, and train with you. We will do everything we can to make this a hike of a lifetime for you. We will be there hiking alongside you, cheering you on, keeping you safe, and making sure you are having fun! This will be a day you never forget. Nor will the souls, you freed, with proceeds we raised together from this historic climb. Be the person that makes history and join us. The souls of your feet will affect the soul of another human being on the other side of the world, freeing them literally from slavery. You will never be the same. Nor will they.

See you at the welcome dinner on September 18th. We have a place at the table for you.
