MCLE Presentation by Kara Hunter, Executive Director of the YCRC

About this event

Join WLS for a presentation about Restorative Justice offered through the Yolo County Resolution Center. This event qualifies for 1 hour of MCLE credit.

The Yolo Conflict Resolution Center, in partnership with Yolo County Probation, the Public Defender and District Attorney provides Restorative Justice conferencing to juvenile offenders beginning with initial contact with the juvenile justice system using approaches that are evidence based, culturally relevant, trauma‐informed, and developmentally appropriate. Restorative Justice is a different approach to address crime and wrong-doing that is based in accountability and the taking of responsibility rather than strictly punishment.

By providing restorative justice programming and services, the goal is to keep youth away from the juvenile justice system by incorporating educational services, including academic and vocation services; mentoring services; mental health services; and behavioral health services.
