Newly-signed Sony Music/MPRE/Orchard Records recording artist Yolandra Rhodes is a
Jazz songstress, uniquely interpreting works by jazz visionaries such as Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and Rachelle Farrell.
She has performed with both local and nationally-known performers, including Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes at Kimball's East, where she brought down the house with her interpretation of Sharon Paige’s “I Hope That We Can Be Together Soon."
Other appearances include Yoshi's, The 57th Street Gallery, The Fenix and Geoffrey’s Inner Circle, and she has sung our country's National anthem at Golden State Warriors games and for the U.S. soccer team.
Rodney James is a native of San Francisco who began performing in local clubs with several vocal groups in the mid-'60s. In the '70s, he joined Talk of da Town singing a cappella and has performed in the U.S. and Europe.
In 2002 he became a member of the iconic group Natural Four, performing with them
at the Monterey Blues Festival, the Jimi Hendrix Experience in Seattle, the City of Oakland's 150th Birthday Celebration, and Biscuits & Blues in San Francisco. Recently, Rod expanded his vocal chops to include his passion for Jazz, as he's currently attending the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. If you like the smooth baritone of Johnny Hartman, Gregory Porter and Will Downing, you're going to love RodJ's style!
