Immerse yourself in the practice of Yoga on beautiful Lake Atitlan in Solola, Guatemala. Mystical Yoga Farm offers a quiet refuse for our Retreat; a chance to get away from our busy lives. Our retreat includes yoga, group activities on philosophy, meditation and pranayama, enjoy the mayan sauna, kayaking on the lake, exploring the local villages, shopping in the colorful markets, sacred circle, lunar yoga, evening book discussion, satsong, kirtan and more!
Lake Atitlan is a sacred sight for the local Mayans and offers a journey of healing and insight, off-the-grid and on the land. Our Retreat allows each person the opportunity to join a group setting for learning, asana practice, and the availability for private or free time. Take a swim in the Volcanic Lake, named Pachamama by the locals, or do some Karma Yoga with Silvio, the gardener and Permiculture-specialist. There is a small library of books and many of our guests spend free time on the dock reading and sunbathing. Kayaks and SUP boards may be available. Pedro, our chef and cook-extraodinaire, can show you how to row the native boat called a Cayucos.
Yoga Classes will be based on Hatha Yoga, anatomy, and alignment. Each class will discuss the Breath-Body Connection and how to modify for injury and the needs of your body (what is called "playing your edge"). In addition to practicing yoga (beginners are welcome!) we'll be offering individual guidance and group discussion opportunities to help you hone your soul's purpose and to identify/transform the fears and blockages that may be keeping you from living your most authentic expression. Lee Piccuito will be joining this year to help guests develop the skills for mindfullness using theraphy sessions for growth and development central to your Health & Wellness goals. Lee is a Mindfulness Counselor & Therapist with more than 10 years of practice working with a wide range of therapuetic modalities.
Students are not expected to have any prior yoga practice or yoga knowledge. This retreat offers each guest the chance to learn and grow with a group of like-minded individuals, learning the 5,000 year-old practice of yoga, in a safe, fun and judgement-free environment. Namaste :)
