What is Yoga Nidra?

We all have goals, responsibilities, and aspirations that we would like to accomplish, but when we push ourselves too far actually make it harder for us to achieve our goals. Life is always going to contain some level of stress but we as a society tend to push ourselves too far, which can leave us feeling exhausted and can even lead to illness. 80% of doctors visits in America are because of some stress related issue!— looks like learning to manage your stress levels is important!

Yoga nidra is a deeply relaxing guided meditation designed to systematically relax the body and mind. It’s a great way for you to let go of your responsibilities, your to do list… The story of your life For a little bit, so that tension and melt away from the body, stress from the mind that you can come back into the world feeling refreshed and ready to take on challenges that life throws at you.

This class is great for you if you:

  • Want to relax after a stressful day/week
  • Are interested in exploring the subtle inner world
  • Have trouble sleeping
  • Want to manage stress and anxiety
  • Have high blood pressure or hypertension
  • Want to release tension from the body

What you need to practice:

  • Yoga mat or mats
  • Two blankets- One for under the body, one to cover the body
  • Small pillow to support the head. (can use one under the knees to protect the low back)
  • Dress comfortably
