Event description

Description

A Community Yoga Class to Encourage Health & Well-being

Fall 2017

Based on the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, the ‘Grandfather of Modern Yoga' and his son TKV Desikachar.

'It was Krishnamacharya’s strong conviction that the practice of yoga and the application of its numerous tools must be done to suit the changing needs and requirements of the individual. In refusing to standardize the methodology of teaching yoga, he created highly individualised practices relevant for every student from every walk of life.'

This Yoga Class can be summed up as 'Function creates the Form', not the other way around. Every class is unique and focused on and adjusted to the individual rather than trying to fit everyone into the same mold. The goal is to have the student open themselves to a new experience and gain more insight into who they are, what they need, and what they are capable of while optimizing their physical and mental health. Classes are appropriate for all levels regardless of limitations or ability.

Taught by: Pasquale Antonio holds certifications as a Personal Trainer, Systema Instructor and a student of 500HR Yoga Program with the Yoga School NY. He teaches a variety of classes, workshops, and private training to both adults and youth including: Movement Training, Yoga, Martial Arts/Self-Defense, and fitness with a focus on principle-based training methods adapted to the individual.
