Description
As the longer miles add on in the midst of marathon season the body requires more maintainance to preform at its best. Having run the NYC marathon in 2016 and various other half marathons, I believe that yoga has helped me with preventing injuries and would like to share the knowledege with others.
This yoga class will focus on yoga postures specific for runners--a combination of lengthening, strengthening, balancing and mentally preparing for your body to feel revitalized and ready for added mileage.
This is a donation based class (suggested donation $20) and all proceeds will go to an organization that is dear to me, STAND The Haiti Project. STAND (Sustainable Therapy And New Development) is a non-profit organization that works to provided physical therapy to the rural Hatian communities in most need. I volunteered with the organization in 2016 and it was one of the most fulfilling experience of my life, to keep it brief. On October 6, 2018, Haiti was hit with a 5.9 magnitude earthquake and I would like the proceeds to go to rebuilding the community.
