Description

**Please note that the day listed on the brochure should be Tuesday, not Thursday**

Trauma-sensitive yoga is an evidence-based adjunctive treatment for PTSD and complex trauma. This workshop is geared toward those who wish to bring aspects of TSY into their treatment milieu. The workshop will include a brief overview of trauma theory and the role of yoga in healing after trauma. Participants will have an opportunity to experience a TSY group practice and will learn and practice TSY techniques that they can use with their clients. Note that you do not have to be a yoga teacher to understand and utilize TSY techniques.

Objectives

1. Participants will learn the rationale and research base supporting yoga as a treatment for posttraumatic stress.
2. Participants will understand some of the challenges and unique needs of trauma survivors in practicing yoga and ways to address this in practice.
3. Participants will learn and practice leading yoga forms that can be brought into clinical practice.
