Description

Join us for Yoga for Musicians! Eve Fleishman ‘05 designed this class to help with repetitive stress issues common to practice and performance.

Connect with fellow alumni while you strengthen and prepare your body for the physical demands of every day tasks (prolonged sitting or standing, computer use, singing, playing instruments). We will learn short "tune-up" exercises to incorporate throughout the day, develop breathing techniques to combat fatigue and positively affect the nervous system, build postural awareness to help reduce chronic tensions, and explore better sleep strategies and meditation. This is perfect for anyone interested in mind-body connection, especially those with neck/shoulder/back pain associated with repetitive activities.

Eve Fleishman ‘05 is certified as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist in the Viniyoga tradition. She has more than 1000 hours of training in body awareness and chronic health conditions and has been practicing yoga since 1999. Eve began teaching Yoga for Musicians classes while living in Nashville in 2006. She is especially interested in using yoga as a tool for stress reduction.
