Description

headspace Maitland presents:

Yoga for Mental Health by Kate from Sprout and Bean Yoga

Thousands and thousands of people, each day, across Australia practice Yoga to feel good....to feel great even!

People swear by it for managing their mental health. But does it really work? If so, how? How can a few deep breaths and funny-named postures make any difference?

Lets delve into the impact stress has on us and what we can do to make a difference within ourselves. The wonderful thing about Yoga is that it can be done anywhere, by anyone. Yoga is a science, we are the scientists and our bodies are the lab. Lets see what remedies we can create to find connection and calm for ourselves.

This session is designed to give each participant tools and techniques to take with them, for managing the stresses of school, work and life.

Come along for some Yoga and chats, we will also discuss Yoga for depression and anxiety. This session is open to the clients and service providers of headspace as well as the broader community.

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing.

headspace undertakes a range of activities to increase the awareness of our services and how to access them among young people, their families, friends and the broader community.

We’re proud to say that headspace has provided over 1.5 million* services (centres, online and phone) helping 255,000* young people.
