Description

Yoga for Health and Happiness: Beginner's Series,focuses on incorporating authentic yoga as a daily practice. This series of classes will include the practice of physical postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation/deep relaxation (dhyana) and knowledge (gnyana) from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

Preparation for a yoga class:

  • If it is your first session, please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork.
  • For all sessions, please plan to arrive early enough to settle down on your mat at least 5 minutes prior to the class start time.
  • Hydrate well through the day.
  • Avoid sugary snacks, soda, sugary sports drinks, caffeine, heavy/greasy meals for at least 3 to 5 hours prior to a yoga session.
  • Yoga practice is done with a very light or empty stomach. Please time your meals accordingly on class days.
  • Bring a yoga mat, a towel and water for the class. You could also bring a cushion and/or a back support if you need for meditation.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to stretch and sweat in. Materials that breath and wick away moisture is recommended.
  • Feel free to bring blocks, straps, bolsters or any other props.
  • During the session please make sure cellphones are turned off or in silent mode.

About the Instructor:

Sridevi Bajgur has been practicing yoga and meditation since she was 7 years of age. She is a certified 200H yoga teacher. She ia also a faculty with Art of Living and volunteers her personal time in teaching powerful breathing techniques and leading meditation sessions across the DFW metroplex. She also conducts Youth Empowerment Seminars in University campuses. Professionally, she holds a Masters In Civil Engineering and works as a Project Manager in a leading construction firm.
