Yoga can be a crucial tool to help children learn to manage transition, self-soothing and interpersonal skills. Behavior and focus, strength, flexibility, balance and self-regulation are all improved through yoga, making it an ideal practice for young children as they learn to master these skills.
Children ages three to 12 are invited to join Lauren Villegas, PsyD, psychotherapist and certified yoga instructor, for yoga practice that incorporates positive play with the use of games and songs to assist children in yoga postures, as well as in breathing and mindfulness exercises.
Handouts will be provided with instruction for parents on how to incorporate yoga skills at home.
Preregistration and payment is required. Seating is limited.
Class dates include Tuesdays, February 21 to March 28.
