Jade Sampson, a YLC board member, has started a nonprofit, Dressed for the Test, that provides the required, standardized dress code uniforms for Metro children. For plenty of families in our community, this simple, standardized dress code presents a HUGE financial burden. Even with super affordable uniform options at places like Target, Wal-Mart, or Old Navy, the cost of purchasing school-appropriate wear can seem insurmountable for many.
Therefore, we are asking everyone to bring one (or more) of the items below to the Holiday Party and help many children have the appropriate dress that they are required to have this school year!
Primary Needs (new items only): Girls' and Boys' Sizes 4-18
- Khaki pants, shorts, dresses, or skirts (traditional khaki color, navy, or black)
- Short -sleeved or long-sleeved solid color collared shirts (polo-style or dress shirts)
- Coats (any color)
- Winter accessories - hats, gloves, scarves, earmuffs
Secondary Needs (new items only): Girls' and Boys' Sizes 4-18
- Solid color cardigans
- Solid color blazers
