Description

UPDATE: This event is now sold out! We look forward to seeing everyone who has already purchased tickets this evening.

Join YES! as we bring to life our fall issue on death! Explore how to have a good death with local and national leaders of the alt-death movement. You'll learn how to plan for death, care for the dying, and lay bodies to rest in sustainable ways.

Our panel of experts will be moderated by Sarah Chavez, YES! contributor, executive director of The Order of the Good Death, co-host of the Death in the Afternoon podcast, and founding member of the Collective for Radical Death Studies.

The panel will include:

  • Chanel Reynolds, author of What Matters Most: The Get Your Shit Together Guide to Wills, Money, Insurance, and Life’s “What-ifs”

  • Cynthia Greenlee, YES! contributor and historian whose article on death doulas appeared in our fall issue

  • Jeff Jorgenson of Bellevue-based Elemental Burial and Cremation

  • Katrina Spade of Seattle-based Recompose, which is developing a way to convert human remains into soil

After the stage program, you’ll have the opportunity to join one or more of the panelists for more intimate discussions about their work.
