Event description

Description

This light fantastic tour begins in the lobby of the Contemporary Jewish Museum with museum representatives who’ll share stories behind PaRDeS and Lamp of the Covenant, two light -filled artworks  in the Grand Lobby. Led by Light Art Guide Robin Marks, the group will cross Mission Street to interact with Murmur Wall at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA), where Future Cities Lab will explain the artistry, light, and data collection that comprise this installation. The evening's final luminous moments happen via a short motor coach ride through Mission Bay to see two of San Francisco's newest light art additions, Anima and Monarch enroute to Bayview Gateway Park. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes viewing, David Beaupre of the Port of San Francisco will demonstrate how the imagery in the striking installation Bayview Rise by artist team Haddad | Drugan appears animated due to the programmed illumination of the mural's different colors.
