The YEP-DC Policy to Practice Conference on Saturday, March 23rd, is designed to establish a space where education professionals can meaningfully engage and interact with others around the District on matters of educational research, policy, and practice. Interactive sessions will give attendees the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and engage in collaborative, cross-sector problem solving to break down the divide between education policy and practice. In between conference sessions and during lunch, participants can attend our Opportunity Fair, where there will be a variety of career and volunteer opportunities to explore.

Conference sessions will be led by some of YEP-DC’s most successful members in leadership roles across the education sector, so it will truly be a conference for YEP by YEP. Schedule for the day:

• Homeroom (Registration and Breakfast) – 8:15-9:00am
• 1st period (Keynote speaker) – 9:00-9:30am
• 2nd period (Session 1) – 9:45-10:45am
• 3rd period (Session 2) – 11:00am-12:00pm
• Lunch – 12:00-1:00pm
• 4th period (Session 3) – 1:15-2:15pm
• 5th period (Session 4) – 2:30-3:30pm
• End of day announcements (wrap up) – 3:45-4:00pm
• Recess (Happy Hour) – 4:00-6:00pm

*The Opportunity Fair will be held from 10:45am-1:15pm, giving attendees the chance to visit with organizations in between sessions 1 & 2 and during lunch.
