Event description
Yellow Glitter Sparkles is a monthly support group bringing together gaysians in a safe, no-judgment environment to share stories.

About this Event

This month's theme is examining love and relationships.

How does being queer and Asian impact the way we find and keep love, especially in America? What are the complexities of sexual identities and race in romance? What are your experiences with exotification and racial fetishism? How has technology played a role in this?

Yellow Glitter Sparkles is a monthly group session that brings together gaysians in a safe, no-judgement environment to share struggles, stories, laughs, and tears with each other. We start off with a short mindfulness exercise, discuss the theme, and see where it goes from there.

No phones. No pictures. No recordings. No social media posts.

Just everyone's undivided attention with each other.

Tickets and space is limited - RSVP in advance.

Gay Asians only

Based on my limitations on who I can serve at this time, the demographic for this group will be for those who identify as queer + Asian Pacific (LGBTQ+ East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, and Mixed-Race). Thank you for your patience as I try to figure out how to bring more instructors and perspectives to lead a broader conversation for future events.

To honor the safe space that we're creating, please do not attend this event if you are an ally. If you are passionate about helping the community, please email me at steven@stevenwakabayashi.com.

This event is a part of Yellow Glitter, a podcast produced by Steven Wakabayashi on mindfulness through the eyes and soul of a gay Asian.
