Year Long Projects and Senior Capstone Projects
Monday - March 27, 2017
8:00am - 3:00pm
Higley Unified School District Office
Determining Pathway vision, mission, core values, and purpose are the foundation that a pathway are built on. But we still need to teach and provide students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to succeed in school and beyond.
Students can achieve this by completing different Year Long Projects in each year of a Pathway, culminating with a Capstone Project. In the first year Students will RESEARCH current problems in the world and identify those that they find interesting. Second year students will LEARN how to perform proper research of problems and related concepts and to present their findings. Third year students begin a deeper process of self discovery and to UNDERSTAND their place in the world. Fourth year students will successfully complete a capstone project by researching, learning about, understanding, and then SOLVING a real world problem. Students present their projects and posters at the Capstone Exhibition. This workshop will help Pathways create their own sequence of year long projects that are in alignment with Pathway vision, values, purpose, and academic standards.
