Event description

Description

Grab your most savvy friends for Year In Review Trivia 2017, benefitting Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) and their mission to end homelessness. This 20-question trivia competition about 2017 will test your knowledge of pop culture, music, film, business, sports, politics/government, newsmakers and more! Teams can consist of up to six people, so pick your friends wisely (or you can go solo if you're a real badass).

Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams as well as the team who raises the most money for CASS. So be generous, be wise and be there to have a blast for a great cause.

ABOUT CASS:

Every afternoon, 365 days a year, in the scorching summer and chilly winters, 470 elderly, veterans, disabled, men and women wait outside the doors of CASS waiting for a bed, a shower and a safe place to sleep. CASS helps reverse the trajectory by giving those experiencing homelessness help when they need it the most. Our Goals:

  • Provide emergency shelter

  • Help those experiencing homelessness get jobs

  • Get them roofs over their heads

  • Give them the encouragement they need to succeed

CASS is an Arizona Charitable Tax Credit organization, which offers Arizona taxpayers a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their state taxes. In most cases, the amount of your tax credit contribution will taken right off the top of your tax bill. By donating up to $800 (filing jointly) you show your support of ending homelessness in our community. For more info or to make your donation visit www.CASSaz.org/taxcredit

Who is eligible to make a tax credit donation?
A tax credit is available to all Arizona taxpayers. Anyone who resides or owns property and can file taxes in the state of Arizona can make a tax credit contribution. The Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows taxpayers a tax credit up to $200 for Single or Head of Household tax filers and up to $400 for Married Couple Filing a Joint Return when contributing to extracurricular activities in public schools.

Why Should I Donate and What is the Benefit?:
Donating to tax credit eligible organizations will most likely leave you in a tax neutral situation – meaning you’ll pay about the same total amount whether you use the tax credits or just pay the tax. But by donating you get a say in how the money is spent by choosing which of the tax credit eligible organizations you contribute to.
