YDC Fireside Chat is an informal networking event that continues in Hong Kong’s tradition for creating outstanding entrepreneurial opportunities. Biography

Baldwin Ko is a surveyor by training. He has over 15 years of experience in leasing and management. He returned from Sydeny, Austraiia and Joined Swire properties in 1996. In 2004, Baldwin joined as Senior Manager of AIG Global Real Estate Investment and responsible for Investment asset in Hong Kong and Taiwan. He is specializing in shopping centres trade mix planning and retail spacing enhancement.

Baldwin started his own business in 2006 as Retail Consultant and assist Swire Properties to lease SanliTun North, Beijing project; Within 6 months of his consultaning service, In 2007 Baldwin has cofound agnès b. délices, a famous chocolate brand in Hong Kong. There are now 25 outlets in Hong Kong and Taipei. Baldwin was the one who bring the chocolate ideas to agnes b and at the same time adding a lifestyle touch to a fashion brand.

Mr. Ko has extensive experience in creating retail brands. He developed an Italian gourmet and dessert brand - 2/3 Dolci (The brand was formed under MR B Concepts Limited). 2/3 Dolci has 6 shops in Hong Kong, with one are operated for Standard Chartered Bank in Central. He is also the Managing Director and Founder of Kook Retail Consulting Limited, which is an integrated retail consultancy platform to help clients to rebrand, reengineer and revamp their retail business and trade mix advisory.

Recently a new brand called “The Lobintan” was created in an up-scale shopping mall. “The Lobintan” is the first concept of creating a brand with TLC (Tender, Love and Care) of local street food, like Curry fishball and Siu Mai at Festival Walk.

Baldwin is also the vice-chairman of Institute of Shopping Centre Management, which is an organization for continuous learning, educational and networking platform for on job practitioners. His special interest is trade-mix planning and retail consulting on marketing entry and brand building.
