STAND UP FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
JOIN US this December 4th
Human Rights Day marks the 68th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Youth for Human Rights is partnering with organizations from all over Florida to walk for human rights, and celebrate with speakers, music and a delicious BBQ. AND IT'S FREE!
Meeting time is 2:30pm
Walk Starts at 3:00pm. (This will be a 20 minute walk)
Address: 1300 E. 8th Avenue Tampa, FL 33605
Don't want to walk, but still want to celebrate? Hang around and we'll be back in 20 minutes. Join us for the guest speakers, live music and BBQ following the walk.
After the walk hear from notable leaders:
Rev. Manuel Sykes of Bethel Community Baptist Church in St. Petersburg.
Reverend Sykes has been an outspoken stalwart for equal rights, particularly those marginalized by society, both economically and by lack of opportunity for decent jobs, housing and education.
Julianne Holt the Hillsborough County Public Defender
Ms. Holt has served in her capacity for over 25 years. She directs the defense of over 60,000 cases annually, overseeing a staff of 223, including 120 lawyers. A tireless advocate for rights, Ms. Holt holds the key position of Vice Chair of the Hillsborough County Community Violence Prevention Collaborative, while performing her substantial leadership duties called for in her position as Public Defender.
We will be providing free customized banners and signs for organizations that want to join us in this walk. Organizations need to send us their logo, and the amount of people that will attend. Deadline to send in logo is November 10th.
Together, we can Stand Up for Human Rights and make our voices heard.
