The time has come for you to rep your team and put your money where your mouth is...on the FUTBOL field!


The Young African Professionals Network in partnership with the Nigerian Soccer League, is pleased to announce its Summer 2017 Co-ed Soccer Tournament.

A brainchild of our members who over the years have pitched to us about hosting a soccer event, this tournament is open to male and female, ages 18+. Whether you are competitive or just want to cheer on the players, we look forward to seeing everyone on the field! This is also a great opportunity for those looking for alternative ways to get in shape and of course, to continue to build your network.


The Coed Tournament includes:

  • YAPDC Team Shirts

  • Preliminary games for each team including refreshments;

  • Final games for the qualifying teams; and

  • The championship game with a trophy and medals awarded to the winning team(s)

Registration is still open!


While you can register up to 4 people on your team directly, teams otherwise are selected randomly. You simply register based on your favorite team. There must be at least 5 women registered in each team.

Each participant must complete the waiver of liabiity and release form.

Soccer Centers Rules

All the tournaments will be played with the official Fifa soccer rules.

General Rules:

  • All players must wear shin guards, or will not be allowed to play.
  • All players must wear jerseys/shirts during play. Team uniform colors are based on the FIFA team they registered under.
  • No jewelry will be allowed, including earrings of any type, rope necklaces and bracelets. The only exception will be players wearing medical bracelets.
  • Roster: We will have a roster with all the player names, age range, and the number of women who are registered for each team. If a team fails to meet the required number of female players they will be notify ahead of time so that they can make the proper arrangement to meet thefemale quota.


Tournament Rules:

  • Duration of the game – 25 or 40 minute running clock depending on final number of registrants
  • No slide tackling.
  • Referees- There will be no abuse of the referees tolerate, verbal or otherwise. Any indication of such behavior by a coach or parent will result in immediate removal from the tournament site. No verbal abuse of any player, coach or referee will be tolerated. Please keep all comments (cheering) positive.
  • Teams must be ready to enter the field at least 5 minutes prior to their scheduled game.
  • Keepers are NOT allowed to punt
  • FIRST WHISTLE STARTS THE CLOCK ON ALL FIELDS and GAME ENDING WHISTLE ENDS GAMES ON ALL FIELDS.



About the Nigerian Soccer League:

Nigerian Soccer League was created to provide a recreational arena for sports and social environment for adults, children and the communities it serves in the DC Metropolitan area. Nigerian Soccer League’s renewed mission is to not only provide a recreational sport and social environment for networking; but to improve the quality of life for the citizens of the communities that it serves by promoting wellness and health through exercise fitness activities that help prevent diseases and promote lifestyle enrichment; provide access to free nutrition seminars with emphasis on disease education prevention; and also provide social support for the needy through food and clothing drives.
