Event description

Description

Join DER in preserving some of the most important ethnographic films of the 20th century! We've been awarded a prestigious matching grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation to preserve and remaster 8 films from Tim Asch and Napolean Chagnon's groundbreaking series on the indigenous Yanomamo people of Venezuela and Brazil. Now we need to raise $25,000 to make this a reality!

Please join us to kick-off our fundraiser and be part of this important project! Schedule of activities:

6:30-7:00--Short Screening & Presentation: We'll show film clips and give a short talk on the Yanomamo films and preservation process.

7:00-8:30--Donations & Mingling: Help yourself to refreshments and altruism! We'll provide the snacks and drinks, you provide the donations to help up reach our fundraising goal! We will have donation stations set up where you can donate by credit card or check.

This will also be a chance to see our lovely new office space and mingle with the greater Boston film community. All are welcome--bring your friends! We hope to see you there!
