Yale Women Innovators is a Tuesday morning series at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute that is designed to foster community discussion, idea sharing, best practices, business fundamentals, networking and team-building opportunities among Yale women students, alumni, faculty and staff interested in entrepreneurship and innovation at any level.

Tues., Feb 21, 8:30am: "Funding your idea: What is in your toolbox?", Victoria Elenowitz, Managing Director of Golden Seeds

Victoria is the Managing Director of Golden Seeds. She has invested in over 35 start ups since 2009, and seen approximately 800 pitches since then. As an investor with Golden Seeds, about 2/3 of Victoria's investments have a female C-level Founder. Victoria has started two successful non-profits (theater and community welfare)and is an advisor to a handful of start ups in predictive analytics, IOT, food, and luxury furniture. Victoria will discuss becoming a female start-up entrepreneur – including how to identify what is in your toolbox and roadmap, and how you can best augment that. She believes that founders need to be advertisements for their team’s values, products and ways of thinking, and will share thoughts on best practices for conveying those ideas when trying to secure funding.

Tues., March. 7, 8:30am: "Creating Medical and Quality of Life Value in the Not for Profit Sector", Susan Froshauer, President of CURE/Founder of Melinta (RIB-X)

Susan Froshauer, PhD became CEO of CT's bioscience business organization, CURE (cureconnect.org) with a mind's eye to celebrate CT's accomplishments in bioscience and to foster its growth. She has collaborated statewide on a path to sharpen CT's commitment to creative bioscience innovation. One product is a new bioscience lab incubator and co-working space, The Commons, (curecommons.org), built by scientists for scientists.
