Breaking the Mold: Women & Mothers in Entrepreneurship

New Haven Free Public Library, 133 Elm St

Women & Mothers in Entrepreneurship is part of series of events highlighting the stories of New Haven entrepreneurs.

Being a woman* and being a mother present unique challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurship. How can we build systems and cities to maximize the potential for success for women entrepreneurs — in particular those that are raising families too? How is being a woman make building a business different? A barrier? An asset?

Explore these questions and more with a panel of New Haven entrepreneurs:

• Chardonee Wright: Owner of Woman, I Am Incorporated
• Kia Levey: Owner of Launch LLC
• Karen Lenahan: Owner of Small Kitchen, Big Taste
• Marannie Rawls: Owner of Elm City Coach

This event is hosted in partnership with the Community Fund for Women & Girls, Tsai CITY, All Our Kin, New Haven Free Public Library, and Collab.

*We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” — including trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified.
