Reunion Weekend 2019

**Please note that instead of charging a registration fee (estimated value of $100 per person), we are asking that you make a donation to the F&ES Annual Fund (2019-2020) in the amount that you choose. If you are bringing family members who will participate in meals or events, please consider increasing the size of your tax-deductible donation**.

Friday, October 11



8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Festschrift for Chad Oliver (Hosted by the F&ES Dean’s Office)

Bowers Auditorium, Sage Hall and Marsh Hall

A day of readings, lectures and celebration of Chadwick Dearing "Chad" Oliver, Pinchot Professor of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and Director of Yale‘s Global Institute of Sustainable Forestry. Further details will be provided by the event organizers.

Bowers Auditorium is wheelchair accessible and has audio amplification. The first floor of Marsh Hall is wheelchair accessible.

Pre-Reunion Coastal Ecology Field Trip to Hammonasset Beach State Park

Trip Departs from Sage Hall

Visit the Meigs Point Nature Center for an interactive program about the ecology of Long Island Sound, including a touch tank with resident sea creatures! Learn about current F&ES research on coastal ecology, marsh migration and the impacts of salt water on trees with Dr. Shimon Anisfeld, and others. Lunch will be provided. Transportation for those not requiring a car seat will be provided. Pre-registration required. Registrants will be provided with additional field trip details, including details regarding transportation for children.

This event includes portions on uneven surfaces and sand. Audio amplification will be provided as possible. The Meigs Point Nature Center is fully ADA accessible.

Join us for a performance by Ben Cosgrove, a traveling composer-performer whose music explores themes of landscape, place, and environment in North America.

Reunion Weekend TGIF

Knobloch Environment Center, Kroon Hall

Kick off Reunion Weekend at a huge TGIF with alumni, faculty, students, and staff. Hors d'oeuvres, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options will be provided.

TGIF Movie Night for Kids

Burke Auditorium, Kroon Hall

A children’s movie will be shown on the big screen in Burke Auditorium during TGIF.

This event is kid-friendly! Supervision by a parent or designated adult is required. Lights will be dimmed during viewing.


Beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Class-Organized Informal Dinners/Gatherings

Individual classes are encouraged to arrange informal dinners/gatherings during this time. Coordinate with your friends and classmates to catch up on campus or at a local restaurant!

Free: Explore the changes in downtown New Haven, visit the Yale Art Gallery, Cushing Center Brain Library, the Yale Center for British Art, Sterling Memorial Library, New Haven Museum, East Rock Park, or Edgerton Park and Gardens.

Admission Required: Visit the Connecticut Children’s Museum on Orange Street ($10 per person), The Peabody Museum ($13 Adults, $6 Children over 3)
