Description

Happy Holidays!

Please join us as a parade entry participant in the 19th Annual Christmas Lights Parade on Sunday, December 2nd at 6:00 on Yakima Avenue. The cost is FREE! FREE! FREE!

Over the past 19 years, we've had beautiful entries from local businesses, schools, non profits, churches, media outlets, retail stores, politicians, and even families that want to be a part of something special. See the brief rules below and share them with your team.

By registering for this event, you agree to abide by all the parade rules below and share these with your team.

  1. The main thing is that we DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO THROW CANDY FROM YOUR VEHICLE due to safety precautions. Small children have died at the hands of being run over by a moving vehicle in this country, and we don't want to take that chance. HOWEVER, please have your friends and family walk alongside and hand the candy to spectators - IT'S THE MAIN REASON THEY ATTEND! We hope you agree!
  2. Registrations online or via paper application must be submitted or delivered to Ron's Coin at 6 North 3rd Street, Yakima, WA 98901, or even emailed to sunfairparade@gmail.com BY TUESDAY, November 27th.
  3. BE CREATIVE! Our THEME this year is "We LIVE to GIVE" and we are asking for canned and boxed food donations for the Union Gospel Mission. USE LOTS OF LIGHTS! The Dollar Store has glowsticks and batery operated lights for your friends to wear, flashlights and batteries too!
  4. Parade entries are asked to check in and assemble at the Salvation Army parking lot on S. 6th Avenue, starting at 5PM. Entries are encouraged to have recognizable signage so that spectators and judges know who you are.
  5. Awards will be presented in these categories: Corporate, Small Gorup, Most Original, Most Outstanding Use of Lights, Best Kid's Entry, and Parade Committee Favorite. The spread the goodwill, each entry will be eligible for one award.
  6. Equestrian units or anyone with live animals must PROVIDE THEIR OWN POOPER SCOOPER - with SHOVEL and CART.
  7. I/We the digitally submitted undersigned, do hereby for myself/ourselves, heirs, executors and administrators, waive, release and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages which I/we have against the partners on the Christmas Lights Parade Committee, their respective officers, representatives, agents, successors, and/or assigns, and all sponsors, for any and all injuries or damages which may be sustained by me/us in connection with our entry in the abvoe stated program through normal participation therein. By registering for this event you agree to the above terms.

Judging will take place on the parade route with winners announced at the Millennium Arts Plaza at the end of the parade. Participants are invited to park at the Yakima Transit Center and come to the Plaza for holiday music, the awards and to visit with our very own SANTA CLAUS!

For additional information, and especially if this is your first time joining us, please call Lexi at (509) 307-9900 or stop in and visit our fabulous event sponsor, Ron's Coin & Collectibles, and ask for Joe Mann. He's happy to help too!

Speaking of our Main Sponsor, Ron's Coin & Collectibles is a great place to do some Christmas shopping! Games, movies, electronics, sports memorabilia, rare coins, jewelry, and so much more. Open six days a week to serve you and located at 6 North 3rd Street in Yakima. Thank you, Joe, for your continuous support of our community!!!

This year's parade is proudly presented by the Sunfair Parade Association, Ron's Coin & Collectibles, Listen Up Coaching, the City of Yakima, The Capitol Theatre, Yakima Visitor and Convention Center, The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce and the Yakima Herald Republic.

In Yakima, We Live To Give and We Love to Serve - join us, won't you! We are asking that all entries bring CANNED OR BOXED FOOD DONATIONS (non-perishable) for the Yakima Union Gospel Mission so they can continue to serve our community and provide meals for the families in need this holiday season and all year around.

Also, be sure to share our Facebook event with all your friends so we can come together, line the streets, and show the heart of our community! https://www.facebook.com/Yakimasunfairparade and make sure you click GOING to the event and share with your friends!

P.S. FOR ONE ENTRY - please just "buy" (it's free) one TICKET.
