WWI and Its Legacy: A Discussion with Today’s Veterans

Thursday, Sept. 28, 6:30 p.m.

Jessie Lopez, veteran linguist and analyst with the US Marine Corps, current Fellow at NCSU Libraries-moderator.

A panel of four student veterans from NC State University reflect on themes—including “Why Fight,” “The Experience of War,” “America on the World Stage,” and “Coming Home”—they found in common with soldiers who fought in WWI. This program is funded as part of World War I and America, a two-year national initiative of the Library of America and presented in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the National World War I Museum and Memorial, and other organizations, with generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
