About This Event:

This is a hike with hills, valleys, bridges, and views. This event is intended for the advanced beginner nature explorer. The hike is approximately 3 miles long and is rated easy.

About This Trail:

Huckleberry Trail is in Woolly Hollow State Park, which is located in Greenbrier, Arkansas. It is a 3-mile loop trail. There are many inclines, one set of stairs, and a couple of benches for rest breaks (or a snack break!)

If you want to check out photos and reviews, here is the AllTrails link: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/arkansas/huckleberry-trail

Getting There:

We will meet at the Visitors Center in the park. The parking is free and on a paved parking lot with plenty of room for cars to park. You do not need an SUV to access this trail; any car can make the drive.

Things to Know Before You Go:

This is a clearly marked, well-walked path through the woods around the lake at Woolly Hollow State Park. You will not be bushwhacking trees and weeds out of your way. There are well-maintained boardwalks and bridges over wet areas. We will hopefully see some wildlife, and if it has rained enough we will end the hike at a small waterfall.

There are bathrooms at the trailhead at the visitors center. I recommend bug spray and sunscreen because it is a wooded area surrounding a lake, so there will be mosquitos.

YOU MAY LOSE CELL SERVICE ON THIS TRAIL - PLAN ACCORDINGLY

** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors (ME) are not wilderness first aid certified and are not guides. This is a casual get-together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please plan accordingly.**

WHAT TO BRING: This is a short hike that should take us under 3 hours to complete. However, there are things I bring on every hike no matter what:

  • WATER (with EXTRA ice for getting my cooling towel cold)
  • a cooling towel
  • snacks
  • bug spray
  • sunscreen/hat
  • a Ziploc bag for any tras
  • First aid kit
  • phone/camera
  • rain jacket, just in case
  • trekking poles if they make you more comfortable

Cancellation Policy:

If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.
