Event description

Description

A series of writing workshops will be held at the Johnstown Public Library on Saturdays October 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 10:30am-12:30pm. In these sessions for the novice or experienced writer, participants will write original fiction and submit it for peer and instructor feedback. Participants will follow the "workshop model," where they read one another's stories at home and discuss in person. Sample works by published authors will also be read and analyzed, so as better to understand the characteristics and techniques that make for good fiction writing.

Facilitated by Brian Phillip Whalen, SUNY Albany Lecturer.

Program series made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. Sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Library System and participating member libraries.
