Five distinguished writers with ties to the Times Union share stories of life, love and loss and touch upon the process of writing.

About this Event

Five distinguished writers with ties to the Times Union – Amy Biancolli, Akum Norder, Darryl McGrath, Howard Healy and Paul Grondahl – share stories of life, love and loss and touch upon the process of writing and how their journalistic experience influenced their published works.

The conversation will be preceded by a reception featuring hors d’oeuvres and Hearst wine courtesy of Times Union Publisher and CEO George R. Hearst III.

The Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza will be on hand so attendees may purchase -- and have signed -- each authors’ books. Among the titles available will be Amy Biancolli’s “Figuring Shit Out: Love, Laughter, Suicide, and Survival”; Akum Norder’s “The History of Here: A House, the Pine Hills Neighborhood, and the City of Albany”; Paul Grondahl’s political biography, “Mayor Corning: Albany Icon, Albany Enigma”; Darryl McGrath’s “Flight Paths: A Field Journal of Hope, Heartbreak, and Miracles with New York's Bird People” and the book she co-edited with Howard Healy, “I'll Be Home: The Writings of Jim McGrath.”

Tickets: Before Oct. 1, $15; thereafter, $20
