Description

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cynthia Swanson will discuss her two novels, The Bookseller and The Glass Forest. Both novels are set in the mid-20th century, and Cynthia is becoming known for her strength in capturing the historical settings for her compelling stories.

The Bookseller, Cynthia’s debut novel (set in Denver in 1962), is soon to be a motion picture starring Julia Roberts. An Indie Next selection and the winner of the 2016 WILLA Award for Historical Fiction, The Bookseller is being translated into over a dozen languages.

Cynthia's second novel, The Glass Forest, is a gripping literary suspense story set in the 1960s about a deeply troubled family and three women who reveal its dark truths. In a recent Denver Post review, Sandra Dallas calls The Glass Forest “a well-crafted story of a complex family with secrets that will surprise the reader.”

Cynthia is also a mid-century modern design aficionado, and she brings her love of and respect for mid-century design and detail to her writing in a form she's dubbed "Integrity Modern."

Cynthia lives in a mid-century modern home in Denver with her family, where she is working on her third novel.
Books will be available for purchase.
