Event description

Description

The principles of positive psychology state that a pleasurable, engaged & meaningful life can help increase happiness. However, in today's 21st century tech led society, more and more people are suffering from anxiety, depression, social isolation & loneliness than ever before. Can you relate to that?

Writing for wellbeing aims to work on increasing happiness by creating a safe, sociable space for people to connect with others and explore their emotions with a series of exercises loosely based on Julia Cameron's book - The Artist's Way. However, there are no expectations and there is no pressure to share as some of the writing tasks may feel very personal, but you can decide at any time if you do want to offer a contribution. Nobody will care about your in/ability to spell, your scruffy handwriting or judge you on the number of fancy words you use! This group is not about that.

In the first session, you will be guided through some tasks & activities to get you thinking about your 'inner critic' and some ways to combat it as well as hopefully finding out that free writing can be fun! All materials will be provided.

This is a course of 6 sessions but each session is also designed to stand alone so you can choose if you only want to attend one but a discount will be offered for block bookings.

Hope to see you at a session soon!
