Event description

Description

Writing, whether a book, an article, or a blog, can expand your influence in the field of mental health to a global level. This added visibility has the potential to help build a successful therapy practice through an increase in clients and may provide additional streams of revenue from book sales or speaking engagements.

Whether you’ve been writing for years or don’t know where to start, this comprehensive workshop will cover a range of topics including the writing process from idea to finished product, ethical and legal considerations, marketing, and an overview of traditional publishing vs. self-publishing. Attendees will participate in writing exercises so should bring a laptop or pen and paper. Registration will start at 8:45am.

FAQs

How many people can register?

Attendance will be limited to 16 participants to enhance the experience and a waitlist will be started if necessary.

Are CEU's available?

No. As the focus of this workshop is on business development and marketing, it does not meet the criteria for continuing education and a certificate will not be given.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in learning more about writing, especially a book, is welcome. There will be specific content relative to mental health providers, but much of the workshop will be useful to non-therapists as well.

What are my parking options?

The Town Green Meeting Room is a small building overlooking the pond between Maple Grove City Hall and the library. There is free parking along Main Street in front of the Town Green Meeting Room as well as in the library parking garage located on the north side of the library.

What's the refund policy?

A full refund will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the event start date. As the workshop will be capped at 16 attendees, it would be appreciated if cancellations would be done as soon as possible to make room for others to attend.

No. Registration will start at 8:45am from a printed list. The workshop will start at 9am.
