Event Details

Join renowned writer, creator and teacher Barbara Slade for an inspirational script-writing masterclass, held in the beautiful surroundings of Regent's University.

This intensive, one-day workshop is designed for anyone with a passion for animation. During the day, you'll learn the specific writing techniques you'll need to succeed in this exciting and rapidly growing industry.

The day includes lunch and refreshments.

BARBARA'S WORKSHOP OUTLINE

Writing for animation offers the ultimate freedom! A leaf can fall from a branch, transform into a bird and a moment later morph into a terrifying creature with wings of fire. While a sequence like this would be nearly impossible to film in a live-action series or movie, in the world of animation virtually anything can happen, and a writer’s biggest constraint is simply that of her own imagination.

Writing for animation requires both strong script-writing skills and also a knowledge of the specific rules that are unique to this form. After years of writing features and working on successful shows such as Rugrats, I developed this workshop to teach writers what they need to know in order to succeed in the exciting and rapidly growing animation industry.

To ensure the best experience, numbers of participants will be limited, so please book your place early to avoid disappointment.
