Event Details

This one-day  class will teach you how to create  readable, reliable, and scalable Behavior Driven Acceptance tests that will help you to speed up your test process and ultimately your software release cycles. In small groups, you will learn techniques from real world examples using Cucumber, Ruby, and Selenium WebDriver APIs. This seminar will focus purely on hands-on practice. As result, everyone will leave this class with real test automation experience.

Course Outline:

  1. Setup Ruby environment
  2. Brief introduction to Cucumber  – BDD Test Automation Framework
  3. Break group to pairs and start writing tests for real world web application
  4. Utilize Selenium WebDriver APIs to manipulate Ajax pages
  5. Learn test execution and reporting
  6. Configure Cucumber to take screenshots during test failure
  7. Q & A

Igor is a test automation manager, currently working at Tinder. He is the key driver behind Tinder's mobile automation team. Before Tinder, Igor worked as an automation lead at Expedia and  Barnes & Noble where he built automated solutions for their flagship products. Beside testing, Igor is also passionate about teaching. In 2013 he founded BayQATraining -- a company that provides online and on-site training for those who want to become test auotmation experts. He is constant guest at various meetups around Bay Area and  was a presenter at GTAC (Google Test Automation Conference) on topic “Mobile Automation in Continues Delivery Pipeline”.
