Event description

Description

How many times have you said those four words: always wanted to write? Why don’t you? What stops you?

Designed for the newbie who's never taken a writing class but wants to try one, this introductory workshop is a 3-hour crash course on the basics of writing and what makes for good storytelling.

Whether you're writing creative non-fiction, memoir, fiction, short stories, essays, blogging, social media, etc, you'll come away with concrete tools you can use in your work. And you'll gain confidence from the benefits of a small, supportive atmosphere, and next-step guidance for taking your writing forward after the workshop.

Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided.

Other Details:

  • Fiction and non-fiction only. No poetry, please.
  • There's a 4-person cap for a more focused learning experience. Sign up early.
  • The space is not handicapped accessible; a flight of stairs is required.

The WriteStart intro workshop is offered once a month; other workshops are offered for those already writing. Visit alwayswantedtowrite.com for more info.
