Event description

Description

Hear the voices of currently and formerly incarcerated men and women presented through readings that explore life beyond incarceration. How does one “evolve” beyond the walls? And what do you do to grow as a person within the walls? After the readings, there will be an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the writers.

These questions and others were explored during writing workshops conducted over the summer with formerly and currently incarcerated individuals. Through poetry and stories you will hear from people who too often are dehumanized and discarded by society. The event will also include an opportunity to engage in dialogue with formerly incarcerated men and women on the challenges they face as they restart their lives.
