Description

Family Network on Disabilities is hosting a compelling event with the leading U.S. expert on Special Education Law, Pete Wright, ESQ on Saturday, May 13, 2017. This event will inform, educate and meet the growing needs of parents, educators, health care providers, advocates and attorneys who represent children with disabilities regarding special education. One-day special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas:

•Special Education Law, rights and responsibilities

•Tests and measurements to measure progress and regression

•SMART IEP's

•Introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy

CREDITS: 7.0 CLEs (continuing legal education) credits have been approved. The CLEs are available for an additional charge of $50. 0.6 CEUs (continuing education units) have been approved. The units are provided by the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Education. They provide CEU's for practicing teachers and a variety of professionals who need to documentation of their professional development hours.
