Wrapped in Plastic and Pan!c – benefit for Global Citizen Year

Jazz combo Wrapped in Plastic and reggae band Pan!c perform in this fundraiser for nonprofit educational organization Global Citizen Year.

Wrapped in Plastic, based in San Francisco, provides the freshest sounds of old and new jazz to the Bay Area. In addition to an ever-expanding repertoire of jazz originals, the group reinterprets old favorites and lesser-known gems in new and modern ways – passing from Miles Davis to the music of David Lynch’s films. Wrapped in Plastic is guitarist Adrien Baudrimont, trumpeter/flugelhornist Brandon Jackson, drummer Michael Trimble, and bassist Nick Christie.

Global Citizen Year recruits and trains a diverse corps of American high school seniors to participate in an immersion-based international bridge year – often called a gap year – before starting college. The San Francisco organization is founded on the idea that America’s next generation of leaders will require global citizenship to effectively address the problems of the 21st century.
